Governance standard
This Code of Conduct defines the behaviour standard Rocky Mountain Renegades RC is establishing before its Spring 2027 launch. It is intended to protect internal order, member safety, and the reputation of the Club. Once someone represents the Club, these standards apply to conduct, participation, and public behaviour.
Operational conduct
Applies to everyone. These standards are intended to apply to members, prospects, associates, supporters, and guests at future rides, meetings, events, online spaces, and any public situation where the Club is represented. A guest does not outrank the standard.
Respect and professional conduct
Standard: Calm, respectful, controlled conduct.
Prohibited: Harassment, intimidation, threats, or bullying.
Expectation: Raise concerns through leadership rather than public escalation.
Application: Concerns should be reported privately to the Sergeant at Arms or another appropriate officer.
Ride conduct and command compliance
Standard: Follow traffic laws and official ride procedures.
Prohibited: Racing, stunting, weaving, aggressive riding, or unsafe formation changes.
Authority: During future official rides, Road Captain direction will be followed for operational safety.
Application: Unsafe refusal to follow ride direction may result in removal from the ride and later review.
Online and public representation
Standard: Professional conduct in all Club spaces.
Prohibited: Public airing of internal disputes, hostile posting, or online conflict using the Club name.
Requirement: Internal matters should be handled through the Head Table.
Application: Public conduct that damages the Club may result in disciplinary review.
Guests and public events
Standard: Family-appropriate language and behaviour when the public or youth are present, where applicable.
Responsibility: Members are responsible for the conduct of guests they bring.
Enforcement: Serious public misconduct may trigger disciplinary review.
Application: A guest may be removed from an activity, and the sponsoring member may also be reviewed when appropriate.
Enforcement framework
Authority chain and final ruling
Once active membership is established, the Head Table will govern the Club and officers will enforce the approved standards. The Sergeant at Arms will administer discipline within the defined process. Operational safety decisions during rides or events are immediate; any review or dispute is handled afterward through Club governance.
Procedural discipline
Due process. Once regular meetings begin, a member may address a conduct issue at an official meeting and provide an explanation or response. Discipline is handled through the defined Club process, with any dispute reviewed through the appropriate leadership structure.
Documentation. Leadership may document conduct incidents, warnings, and outcomes to establish pattern and support fair escalation. Repeated minor violations may escalate to higher levels based on impact and frequency.
Immediate action triggers
Threats, violence, harassment, impairment, reckless riding, criminal conduct at Club activities, or behaviour creating an immediate safety risk may result in removal from the activity pending review. Immediate removal is a safety action first; formal discipline follows through the Club process.
Level 1, Verbal warning
Documented correction for a minor violation, with clear expectations for improvement.
Level 2, Written warning
Formal written notice outlining the concern, required correction, and any applicable follow-up expectations.
Level 3, Fine
Financial penalty where permitted under Club rules for conduct affecting safety, operations, or accountability.
Level 4, Suspension
Temporary removal of specified privileges for the period established through Club discipline, with return conditions where applicable.
Level 5, Expulsion
Removal of membership. Expulsion requires the applicable 80 percent approval vote by show of hands and includes loss of membership privileges and return of Club identifiers.
Accountability process
Confidentiality standard. Reports should be handled privately and shared only with the leadership required to act. Confidentiality does not override safety, legal obligations, venue requirements, or the protection of members and the public.
How to report a concern
Step 1: If immediate safety is involved, notify the Sergeant at Arms or another officer.
Step 2: Report concerns privately to a Head Table member.
Step 3: Keep reports factual and include the date, location, and what occurred.
Step 4: Leadership reviews the matter under Club governance and documents the outcome where appropriate.
Club identifiers
Identifiers and return requirement
Rockers, patches, and identifying insignia remain controlled by Rocky Mountain Renegades RC. Upon resignation, expulsion, or a valid directive during suspension, issued identifiers must be returned in accordance with Club rules. A former or suspended member may not represent themselves as acting for the Club.
